We recently came across a wonderful foundation called The Brown Skin Too Foundation. They 'provide education and awareness of melanoma, which is the most serious form of skin cancer, and promotes skin wellness among people of color.' And, their story is a must read.
So, why brown skin too? To start, it's a myth that people of color do not get skin cancer. According to the Cancer Society, the five-year survival rate of melanoma is 78% among African-Americans.
